Part 1

Initiation

He didn’t know what was waiting as he walked that morbid night

He showed the world his dark side. His raven followed him in flight

That night he planned to meet his first true love, Morwenna

But vampiric fate had cursed him that night; he didn’t get to see her

Down the dampened cobbled path that led him through the sacred ground

The tension grew around him, smothered by silence. Not a sound

And not even a while away, blessed Morwenna sat against a tree

It was two years prior to that day that Morwenna had met he.

He is the one who that night left his home carrying his pride

For at the tree, about to ask was he, for Morwenna to be his bride

But back at the sacred ground to where the silenced choked the land

Bran continued the eerie pace to do what he had planned

But as his hand had cleared the charcoal locks from across his face

His raven flew towards him where Bran picked up his walking pace

The actions of the Raven, Bran knew what they signify

But on this night, Bran had a fright, Horror from the ravens cry

In the instant of his blinking eye, Bran’s body froze in time

His vision locked on the darkness, his mind focussed on a love tales crime

And then the all bone fingers took a grip on his last breath

His head had collapsed to the darkness, exposing the virgin neck

As the peaceful torturer took from Bran what he had desired

Brans body had slumped to the floor as the vampire then retired

Choking on the gullet of blood, Bran struggled to find his mind

So alone on the dampened cobbled path, He laid there for someone to find

But solitude was the hour, he lived with one eternal breath

His eyes were still open but he was living through his death

And at the time of such a crime, Morwenna  felt a chill

A saddened feeling smothered her as her eyes began to fill

She knew there must be a reason to why she started crying

But regrettably unknown to her, her first true love was dying

She slowly moved away from the tree, where their eyes first met

with deepened hesitation she paced, moving with regret

Feeling she was cheated, feeling her heart was  bound

Alone she made her way to the treacherous sacred ground

So down the dampened cobbled path, her weary feet would scuff the stone

And suddenly, she knew that she, was certainly not alone

As she kept her silence, holding back the weakened tears

She saw a person lying there, a moment of all her fears

To scared to call, to scared to scream, she didn’t make a sound

So slowly she moved forward and saw Bran lying on the ground.

Her heart fell to her stomach when she saw him lying there

Her hand on him, she stroked his face, his eyes opened to a stare

A blank look came upon him, from his mouth the blood did spill

Morwenna froze in pure fright, the night around her oh so still

She graced the blood upon his face, and quickly held his head

She felt the coldness of his flesh and thought he was still dead

But his hand that lay beside him, started moving as though blind

Across his chest it slowly moved, her soul he tried to find

Morwenna’s tears unfrozen, started flooding the morbid air

She held his hand and sat him up, but he kept the endless stare

She tried to console him, tried to help him come around

He raised his head and bared his flesh, bite marks she then found

Frightened and aware , she screamed and stepped away to flee

Retreating to the  darkened night away from him to see

From the way she found him, from the marks his neck received

She  knew he was no mortal, and now she was bereaved

Her mind was boggled with uncertainty, clueless of what to do

She knew she would always love him and that he would love her to

But could she turn her back upon the man that she was meant to marry

So to him so calm, she grabbed his arm, Bran home she tried to carry

Weakening by the minute, Morwenna prayed for the extra vigour

And walking under moonlit sky she saw a friendly figure

Her brother who was passing saw the terror on her face

And with his help, he carried Bran, back to his homely place

As moments passed, back home at last, Bran laid upon the bed

Morwenna bowed, in attempt to shroud from what her brother said

He ask if he was attacked, was he mugged and left in the dark

But off the bed she shook her head, and revealed the vampires mark.

Her brothers eyes looked surprised as he stumbled to the door

He knew that Bran would not survive his mortal life no more

Morwenna turned to take a look at Bran’s now ashen shell

She knew that from that moment on, her love was condemned to hell

Her brother tried to call to her that its time they both should go

But Morwenna called back and told him that she cant leave him, Oh No.

“I love him and I’ll stay with him, what ever happens I’ll be strong,

And to run from him and his innocence, to me that would be wrong”

“I’ll wait to see what becomes of him and to see if he pulls through,

But if vampiric fate has beaten me, then that life I must live to,

Oh brother please forgive me, if you fail to see the reason,

To how my love should ever last to commit the mortal treason”.
